Judging breed color classes

Within a breed, several color "classes" usually exist, such as the "chocolate" and "silver", two color classes discussed on our "Wild Colors" page.  The ring clerk (here in the red sweater on the left) is responsible for calling cats to the ring for each breed, and recording the judge's decisions.  The ring clerk puts each cat's number above the cage (pink for female, blue for male) when the cat is called for these breed judgings.

The judge then starts looking at each cat in a color class for the current breed.  After judging each cat, the judge hangs several small simple ribbons reflecting his/her judgment of the best in the breed based on color class, sex, and all of breed.
