The most interesting events of any cat show are the "Finals",
where a judge picks the top ten cats (or kittens) of all his or her
cats. These are what this judge regards as the best, regardless of breed,
color, or sex. Each judge picks these top ten cats based on how well
the cat meets its breed standards compared to how well others meet their
own standards. You can usually spot a final by the larger number of
people watching the awards. They are good to watch because judges
usually explain what they liked best about each cat, and the key
characteristics that they are looking for in that breed of cat. Here
during a final, a judge explains what she looks for in the head shape of
an Ocicat.
